It’s been a while since my last post. Not that because i am getting lazy (a little actually), but i have so much work to do. So today i made my mind to spare a little time to update this blog a little. Today, i want to talk about events in GG this year. So far we have three events in GG in this 2008 year.

The first one is Ussy’ performance in GG. I don’t have the picture because i went to Jakarta and by the time i came back, the pictures were already deleted.

The second event is performance with Aura Kasih. She is the finalist of Miss Indonesia 2007. She sang a few song of her albums like Mari Bercinta, Mata Keranjang, Memory, etc. The audience reception is not bad either.

The third event is GG’s 5th birthday. In this event, we had dancers and performance from Ika Putri. On 12 AM, the management of GG celebrated it’s birthday by openning champagne.

That’s all for the events this year and i am looking forward to see the end-of -year event.

Our former president Soeharto died at 1 p.m local time today 27 January 2008 because of multiple organ failure. I express my greatest condolence.

Last Friday was probably the busiest and special day for us in this month. Yup. Because Tika and Tiwi of T2 came to our place to sing in the special event “Crazy In Love” (GG’s events always have the word “love” in the name). So everybody was busy preparing for their party here. They arrived in Batam in the morning by Lion Air. I don’t know for sure their activity in the morning. On 4 in the afternoon they came to GG to practice and adjust the sound system. But guess what? They were not alone. Many of their fans followed them here to take their pictures and ask for their autograph. Out of curiosity, i came down to the pub to see them in real person and took some pictures with the camera i lent from my boss. The camera is an old type though so the quality of the pictures is not very good.

Ok. I’ll just skip the details. On 1 in the morning they were ready for their performance. The pub was full packed with people who wanted to watch their performance. Before they went to the hall, they stopped by the KTV room to meet us first. What the hell! They looked so different. They were more beautiful than they were while checking sound in the afternoon. My boss asked to take a picture with them and they agreed. Of course i wanted to take a picture with them too (who doesn’t want to take a picture with two beautiful and gorgeous ladies anyway?). After that they went directly to the hall and started their performance. Wow. They really rocked the whole night club. Everybody enjoyed their show especially when they sang their most popular song, OK!! and Lelaki Cadangan.They sang about 10 songs before they ended their performance and returned to KTV room to take a rest. We asked for their autograph. They signed on the CD cover for my boss and a piece of paper for me. They stayed in Batam only for one day. They returned to Jakarta the next day in the morning.

I don’t know the reason i write this article. I just suddently felt up to it. Maybe the cause are some not very nice experience these days. Remember the comrade i wrote about in previous article (the one who passed away in a murder case)? I attended her praying ceremony in my university on friday night. During the ceremony, some lecturer talked about how we can help to solve the case. He reminded us about that comrade (in indonesian of course). In english, the tense use for that kind of topic is past tense.

Ok. That’s the first. Today i openned my friendster account profile. It’s just a coincidence. I saw my friend’s profile update remark. I was puzzled because he has passed away for almost one year. I openned his account out of curiosity. I saw some new comments about him. Again, the tense used for that in english is none other than past tense. After seeing those comments, i rememberred the moment i and my friends talked about another friends who has also passed away. She was my class made in university. We talked about her in indonesian and some chinese. Still, if the language was english, the tense used would have been past tense.

Why do we use past tense to describe someone who has already passed away? Probably because he/she doesn’t exist anymore in present. Maybe. If that is the reason, then will people use past tense to describe me too? Someday, everyone will pass away. We just don’t know which day it is. Will i feel anything by the time it happens? What will people feel? Thinking these made me think the reasons of life which i don’t know until now.

R.I.P Sandriani.

That’s the first sentence for this article. You should know the topic just by reading the title and the first sentence. It is a murder case which happened recently. I should have written this on this Monday but alas i can make it today because of my activities. My conclusion for this tragedy is that sometimes human beings can be a cruel creature.

Before i write further i will write(or type???) about the late Sandriani (it’s sad coz i have to use past tense to describe her now). She was a student in UIB majoring in accounting and already in 8th semester.

I don’t know what exactly happenned on that friday night. But on monday my mom asked me whether i know her or not. She was the daughter of the relative of my mom’s friend. My mom said that she had been missing since friday on her way home from campus. Since i am also studying in UIB so my mom asked me to find some information. Approximately two hours later, i received sms from my friend. According to the sms, she was found dead in Mata Kucing. She was tied and half naked. Her body was covered with wounds.

I don’t know the culprits and their motives. I don’t really care much anyway. One thing i care is that whatever the reasons behind the murder, it’s not the way to treat a girl. She was a human being just like me, the murderers and every body else. Correct me if i am wrong but she deserved the right to live happily in this world just like us. Nobody can treat her like that. Can’t the murderers imagine her fear, pain, and suffering? Can’t the murderers feel her family’s sadness, agony, and loss?

There are not much things i can do as an ordinary human being. I can only pray to God so that her soul can find peace and the case can be solved. The murderer’s and everyone responsible for this have to be brought to justice to get what they deserved.
